Manchester named the “UK’s most exciting cultural hub”

In yet another extraordinary vote of confidence for the city, Manchester has been declared the “UK’s most exciting cultural hub right now” by National Geographic. In the October 2021 edition of the magazine, the city was praised for its cultural offering with a string of world-class events planned for this year and beyond.

Manchester has long been hailed as a city of innovation, and its recent cultural boom is no exception. Following the national lockdown, the city is now thriving with a flurry of brand-new openings and makeovers.

Cultural highlights celebrated by National Geographic include the recently revamped Manchester Jewish Museum, which will soon play host to an immersive installation by Turner-Prize winning artist Laure Prouvost, as well as the brand-new Special Exhibition Gallery at the Science and Industry Museum.

As a UNESCO City of Literature, Manchester’s literary credentials will be boosted further by the Manchester Poetry Library which is due to open at Manchester Metropolitan University later in the year. The critically acclaimed, multi-sensory Van Gogh Alive Experience will also arrive in Manchester this October filling a 175,000 sqft venue with 360-degree screens to bring the Dutch master’s work to life.

2022 will see Manchester’s cultural credentials taken to another level with the arrival of The Factory. This new cultural space from the team behind the biennial Manchester International Festival, will become an avant-garde home to visual exhibitions and installations as well as a full programme of dance, music and theatrical performances.

Manchester has been hitting the headlines as a city on the up, and was recently voted 3rd best city in the world in a huge global survey by TimeOut. The magazine highlighted Manchester for its nightlife, community spirit and friendliness as well as commending its resilience, pride and creativity.

Yet more praise was heaped on the city following a recent survey by Money.co.uk which declared Manchester the second most luxurious city in the UK, celebrating its impressive array of designer boutiques, Michelin restaurants and five-star hotels.

There’s no doubt the city of Manchester is experiencing one of the most exciting periods of its history. There’s never been a better time to invest in the city and an opportunity that no property investor should miss. Read our guide to investing in Manchester here.
