Nottingham Trent University named 'Modern University of the Year'

One of Nottingham’s universities has scooped itself a prestigious accolade by being named the Modern University of the Year.

The award for Nottingham Trent University (NTU) was given by newspaper The Times and Sunday Times’ Good University Guide 2018.

The award recognises NTU for its strong student satisfaction, its quality of teaching, the overall student experience and its engagement with employers.

Vice-chancellor of Nottingham Trent University, professor Edward Peck, said: “We are very proud to have been awarded the title of Modern University of the Year in The Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide 2018

“It is very pleasing that this authoritative guide recognises our strong student satisfaction, our overall score of 89 percent in the National Student Survey is particularly significant considering our large student body.

“Our strategic plan puts innovative teaching and work placement opportunities at the core of what it means for us to be a teaching intensive university.

The announcement comes just two weeks after the university was shortlisted for the ‘University of the Year’ title in the forthcoming Times Higher Education Awards.
